Markets Modestly Higher Over Earnings

The markets made modest advances during the midday over earnings news. The Dow gained 11 points to 11,971. Nasdaq rose 7 points to 2365 while S&P 500 added a point to 1366. The 30-year bond rose as the yield eased to 4.917%.
