Markets Close Mixed As Spending Weakens

It was a mixed close for the markets today as consumer spending weakened. The Dow lost 4 points to 12,086 while Nasdaq climbed 13 points to 2364. S&P 500 added a point to 1378. The 30-year bond rose as the yield eased to 4.786%.
