Strong Earnings Lift Markets Higher

Strong earnings and falling unemployment claims lifted the markets higher during the midday with the Dow climbing 55 points to 12,373. Nasdaq gained 22 points to 2455 while S&P 500 rose 9 points to 1422. The 30-year bond eased as the yield inched up to 4.699%.
