Mergers & Acquisitions Lift Markets Higher

A flurry of mergers and acquisitions boosted the markets higher during the midday with the Dow climbing 42 points to 12,529. Nasdaq rose 11 points to 2447 while S&P 500 added 3 points to 1425. The 30-year bond eased as the yield rose to 4.99%.
