Upbeat corporate earnings lifted the markets higher during the midday with the Dow climbing 45 points to 12,522. Nasdaq gained 10 points to 2441 while S&P 500 rose 8 points to 1431. The 30-year bond eased as the yield inched up to 4.888%.
