The markets closed near the flatline despite a drop in oil prices as investors anxiously await earnings news. The Dow rose 9 points to 12,569 while Nasdaq slipped 2 points to 2469. S&P 500 edged up a point to 1445. The 30-year bond eased as the yield rose to 4.916%.
